How many of you rely on the incredible high ISO ability on your new cameras to shoot in very low light situations? Many of you might see that there is a deal with the devil when doing so. Noise, which can cause lack of sharpness and/or camera shake, because of your false confidence of using the ultra high ISO’s. So what is the solution? Ta Da…a tripod. Hmmm, a tripod I say…yes especially now because Samy’s has designed and produced their own super light and super strong carbon fiber tripod that had me fooled as far as price.
Hmmm, a tripod I say? Yes; especially now, because Samy’s has designed and produced their own super light and super strong carbon fiber tripod that had me fooled as far as price. I kept asking, “how much?” I was off by $ 200. Check out the price and, at $149.99, pinch yourself: a quality product for that price? Yay!
Samy’s Camera is looking after their customers with great quality for great value. This Phototools Travel Ready Carbon Fiber with Ball Head does not feel cheap and is quite a contortionist as you will see when taking it out of the little carry bag that is included.
Rotate the legs completely around and then adjust it to the height you want. For me, the maximum height of 64” or over 5’ can handle every type of situation I am faced with.
Many times when shooting interiors of houses or buildings, I have to shoot from a corner to gain those few extra inches that make a difference in a small space. The leg can go against the wall for stability or, if you are shooting something out in nature, lean the leg over a log or low lying branch, or a boulder to get in closer.
The mounting plate is so convenient as well for quick mounting and un-mounting of the camera.
On to the ball head: it is great for fine adjustments of any angle of the mounted camera…and on the same plane to the mounted camera is a very useful bubble level.
One more great useful bit is the little hook at the bottom of the post.
One can hang something heavy there for added stability. Your camera bag, a gallon of water, or some random rocks from your shooting location hanging off the hook in a plastic bag.
They thought of everything.
